Proof of Residency

A resident, for the purpose of obtaining a hunting/fishing license, is defined as:
  • Any person who has resided in this state for six continuous months prior to the issuance of a license and claims Florida as their primary residence, or
  • Any member of the United States Armed Forces who is stationed in this state, including spouse and dependent children residing in the same household.
Proof of residency may be presented in the form of a:
  • Florida Driver License (Florida Only Driver License not acceptable)
  • Florida Identification Card (approval validated through the Total Licensing System)
  • Florida Voter's Registration card
  • Military orders showing the applicant is stationed in Florida
  • Florida Homestead Exemption
  • Statement from Florida landlord
  • Parent's Proof of Residency (applicants under the age of 18)
  • Florida Student ID Card (applicants 18 and under)

Military License Eligibility Requirements

For the purposes of obtaining the Military Gold Sportsman License, military is defined as US Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Florida National Guard, US Armed Forces Reserve, US Coast Guard and US Coast Guard Reserve).
  • Active Military
    An active military member wishing to purchase a Military Gold Sportsman License must provide proof of Florida residency in the form of their:
    • White Card - Active Duty, National Guard, Air Guard and Reserve Personnel
  • Retired Military
    A retired military member wishing to purchase a Military Gold Sportsman License must provide proof of Florida residency and their:
    • Blue Card - Retired Military, or
    • Red Card - Retired Reserve Personnel (must contain only one social security number)
