Recreational Vessel Licenses are issued to individuals who own non-chartered vessels. This license allows the vessel owner to carry passengers (generally family/friends) for saltwater fishing without the need to purchase individual licenses as long as the number of individuals does not exceed the number the vessel is safely permitted to carry. When a snook and/or lobster permit has been issued in conjuction with the Recreational Vessel License, the number of individuals covered under the snook and/or lobster permit would be the same as the number of individuals the vessel is safely permitted to carry.

Licenses may only be issued in the name, FL number or DO number of the vessel and are not available for issuance to corporations, partnerships or businesses and any commercially registered vessel.

Eligibility

Prior to the issuance of a recreational vessel license, the following must be presented as proof of license eligibility:

• Current Florida vessel registration
