Vessel Fishing License
Vessel licenses are available through the Tax Collector’s office. For
charter vessels, the license fee covers all paying passengers permitted
by the license. For recreational vessels, (no charter fees charged) the
license covers all individuals on board. These licenses are valid for
saltwater fishing only.
Licenses may only be issued to an individual or a specific vessel. If
the license is issued to an individual, the license may be used by the
individual to charter any commercially registered vessel. If the license
has been issued to a specific vessel, the license is only valid on board
the vessel depicted on the vessel identification card.
To purchase a vessel license, the following evidence of eligibility and
payment must be submitted:
- Commercial Vessels
Vessels Small / 4 or less customers:
- Current vessel registration and current Certificate of
Inspection (US Coast Guard Form CG-841)
or
- Current Coast Guard license to operate or navigate
passenger-carrying vessels
- Fees of $201.50
Vessels Medium / 10 or less customers:
- Current vessel registration and current Certificate of
Inspection (US Coast Guard Form CG-841)
or
- Current Coast Guard license to operate or navigate
passenger-carrying vessels
- Fees of $401.50
Vessels Large / 11 or more customers:
- Current vessel registration and current Certificate of
Inspection (US Coast Guard Form CG-841)
- Fees of $801.50
- Recreational Vessel
- Current vessel registration
- Fee of $2,001.50
