Florida residents are required to title and register their vehicle(s) with the State of Florida. An individual is considered a resident of the state of Florida if that person meets one of the following criteria:

1. Florida is the individual's principal place of domicile for a period of more than six consecutive months.
2. The individual is registered to vote in the state of Florida.
3. The individual has made a statement of domicile.
4. The individual has filed for homestead exemption on property in the state of Florida.
