The Lee County Tax Collector is “Sizzle N’ in the Arts”

The Lee County Tax Collector’s Office is excited to bring Kids Tag Art back into local art classrooms for the fourth consecutive year! In partnership with the Foundation for Lee County Public Schools, Kids Tag Art is an educational fundraising project designed to benefit the art classrooms in Lee County public elementary schools. More than 5,000 fifth-grade students will have the opportunity to create a design that could become a front-end decorative license plate!

This year, students can choose between the two Kids Tag Art themes – both of which focus on a love for food. The “Sizzle N’ in the Arts” theme was inspired by Florida’s unique cuisine, which is a mixture of traditional southern, Caribbean and Latin. It’s that “sizzle” that inspired Kids Tag Art to infuse arts and culture, giving special attention to the love for food and the foodie culture in SWFL. The “Heart Smart Art” theme focuses on a heart healthy lifestyle and making good food choices. Kids Tag Art encourages children to use their creativity and think outside of the box when it comes to creating their tag designs.

Proceeds collected from public sales of the decorative license plates and community sponsorships benefit the participating Lee County elementary art programs. These funds will help cover much-needed classroom supplies and will be distributed at the annual Award of Distinction Ceremony held in February. The goal this year is to raise at least $50,000 and return more than $800 to each participating school art program. You can help us reach our goal by becoming a sponsor, purchasing a Kids Tag Art license plate or simply donating. Click here to find out how you can get involved!

The Lee County Tax Collector’s office is honored to have a program that brings businesses, students, families and the government together to increase awareness and support art in education. Children deserve the highest level of art education possible, and we’re proud to encourage and contribute to the success of so many students. This program goes hand in hand with our mission of service to the community.
