Florida residents and visitors are required, unless otherwise exempt, to hold a license for hunting and fishing in the state of Florida.

While participating in a hunting or fishing activity, hunters and anglers must carry proof of identification, licenses, permits, or certification credentials.

The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) authorizes the sale of hunting and fishing licenses and permits through FWC appointed agents:

  1. Florida Tax Collector Office
  2. Bait & Tackle Shops
  3. Department Stores
  4. Sporting Goods Stores
  5. Marine Store/Dealer/Marinas
  6. Online or by calling 888.486.8356 or 888.347.4356 (additional fees/restrictions may apply)

A hunting or fishing license authorizes hunters and anglers to attempt to take or possess fish or wildlife game in compliance with state and federal regulations and the rules of the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Licenses may be purchased singularly or in combination packages.

Florida residents have three options for licenses:

  1. Annual
  2. 5-year
  3. Lifetime

Non-residents have two options for licenses:

  1. Daily
  2. Annual

A lifetime license must be purchased at a tax collector’s office unless qualifying for on-line purchase.

An original purchase or the replacement of a license or permit is available online or from any licensed FWC agent.

Note: Disabled persons may apply for a no fee hunting and fishing license online. A valid email address must be provided for FWC to deliver the approved license as no license will be mailed. While waiting for delivery of the approved license, a temporary license may be printed upon completing the application process.
