VIN VERIFICATIONS


Motor Vehicles Previously Titled/Registered Out-of-State*


Vehicles titled out-of-state require a physical inspection of the VIN by one of the officials listed below, who must sign Part B of the  VIN Verification form:

  • Tax Collector Employee
  • Florida Notary
  • Law Enforcement Officer from any state
  • Florida DMV Compliance Examiner/Inspector
  • Military Police Officer
  • The buyer and seller may physically inspect the VIN at the time of sale and complete the required VIN verification by signing Part A of the VIN Verification Form.

Motor Vehicles Previously Titled/Registered Out-of-Country


The VIN verification for vehicles previously titled or registered anywhere other than the United States or U.S. Territories must be completed by a DMV Compliance Examiner/Inspector.

Motor Vehicles Previously Registered in Vermont

Vehicles more than 15 years old with only a Vermont Registration as proof of ownership must have VIN verification completed by a DMV Compliance Examiner/Inspector.
