There are several types of stops that can affect your registration.

If there are stops on your record, you may not be able to renew your registrations until the stops are cleared.

Customer Stops

A customer stop can be due to any of the following:

  • Failure to Pay Fines - these could be court costs, traffic fines, or other fines paid to the Clerk of Courts; fines must be paid in the county of issuance
  • Department of Revenue (DOR) Delinquent Support Stop - this stop is placed by DOR for child support delinquency
  • Dishonored Checks - this stop is generated when a check is returned by your financial institution
  • Wrecker Operator Liens - this stop is submitted by a towing company for unpaid fees and costs
  • Repossession Liens - this stop is submitted by a lienholder for failed repossession attempts

Registration Stops

A registration stop can be due to any of the following:

  • Toll Violations
  • Parking Tickets
  • DoT

Vehicle Stops

  • Financial Responsibility
